Every great recipe begins with a memory. For me, it starts in Colombia, in my father's kitchen, watching him work his chef's magic. It continues with my mother-in-law, who generously shared with me the secret proportions for the perfect pandebono and buñuelo.

When I moved to Canada three and a half years ago, I realized that as I built a new life in British Columbia, I needed to keep a part of my heritage alive. That's how Happy Bites was born in March 2025: not just as a business, but as a way to share the warmth, flavors, and joy of Colombian culture with my new community here in Metro Vancouver.

In Colombia, we have a special word for our traditional cheese-based breads: Amasijos. These are not just simple snacks; they are the center of a family breakfast, the perfect companion for coffee on a rainy afternoon, and the soul of our holiday celebrations.

At Happy Bites, we take these ancestral roots very seriously. We have spent countless hours adapting traditional recipes to local ingredients, ensuring that every bite transports you directly to a bakery in Bogotá or a family gathering in Cali.
